- Letter Kevin Urbatsch’s successful letter to the California Supreme Court seeking depublication of bad law about how Special Needs Trusts can be used to enhance the quality of life of persons with disabilities that was supported by the Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP), California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), CPT Institute (leading California Pooled Special Needs Trust program), and the Professional Fiduciary Association of California (PFAC).
- Scott v. McDonald The Scott v. McDonald opinion in which a California Appellate Court improperly ruled that SNT trustees cannot use trust funds for a person with a disability’s food, clothing, or shelter and cannot use funds for any other purpose unless it was directly related to her disability. Kevin Urbatsch led the fight to have this case depublished which means that it cannot be used as law against any other SNT trustee.
